My time in Barcelona

Reprinted here from emails to family from our European holiday June 2024.

We have arrived in Barcelona today after a fab couple of days in Valencia. We are here for a three nights so have the next two days to explore Barcelona. Yesterday we went to the beach and I went for a swim, my first ever in the Mediterranean. It was warm and felt safe. Here’s some photos! Nicole found a couple leaving and we got an umbrella, which was lucky and awesome.

The previous night we went to the city and found some tapas, including calamari (Nicole’s fav). Yesterday we went back to the same restaurant because the food was so good. We have lots of photos of old building but this one has a bear in it.

We depart Barcelona in the morning headed for France. It has been a frantic couple of days with the city so busy, and especially packed with tourists. Here’s the photos.

Me outside House of Bones by Gaudi, probably my favourite building we visited.

Gaudi’s unfinished temple, still under construction, for over 100 years, and taken from the playground at the back.

Nicole managed to finish her sangria that was way too big. I had an orange juice the same size but failed to complete my mission. Next email will be from France. We are visiting Marianna near Bayonne, so have a bunch of smaller towns and cities as stops along the way. Thus, wish us luck with communication!ย
